Poly water cartage tank mounted on a galvanised steel tray by the Tank Factory
Compare water cartage tank prices across the Truck Tanks range, standard and heavy-duty, with dimensions, mounting options and full setup costs.
Water cartage tank prices in our Truck Tanks range start at $5,450 for a 5,000 litre standard model and run to $17,950 for a 15,000 litre heavy-duty model. Every Truck Tank is a slip-on poly tank that comes with a brass outlet and ball valve. Mounting, anti-surge baffles and delivery are priced separately. This guide lists every model with its standard and heavy-duty price, then the add-ons that turn a tank into a working setup on your truck or trailer.

Water Cartage Tank Prices by Model

There are six models from 5,000 to 15,000 litres. Five of them come in standard and heavy-duty versions.
Water cartage tank prices: Truck Tanks range (as at October 2026, delivery extra)
Model Capacity Width × length × height (nominal) Standard Heavy-duty Cost per litre (standard)
TT5000 5,000L 2,000 × 2,580 × 1,330mm $5,450 $6,325 $1.09
TT8000 8,000L 2,150 × 3,150 × 1,490mm $8,750 $9,850 $1.09
TT10000 10,000L 2,250 × 4,030 × 1,650mm $10,550 Not listed $1.06
TT10000HP 10,000L 2,300 × 3,450 × 1,880mm $10,950 $11,950 $1.10
TT13000 13,000L 2,350 × 4,150 × 1,700mm $13,950 $15,250 $1.07
TT15000 15,000L 2,350 × 4,750 × 1,700mm $15,950 $17,950 $1.06

Two things stand out:

  • Cost per litre barely moves with size. Standard models sit between about $1.06 and $1.10 a litre across the whole range. Unlike house tanks, a bigger cartage tank doesn’t get much cheaper per litre. Size it for the job and your vehicle, not for a price break.
  • The heavy-duty premium ranges from $875 to $2,000. That’s about 9 to 16% on top of the standard price, depending on the model.

The two 10,000 litre models suit different trucks. The TT10000 is low and long at 4,030mm. The TT10000HP is shorter at 3,450mm but taller at 1,880mm, and it’s designed to slide into a tipper tray.

Matching to Your Truck and Job

Price is only useful once you know which size suits your vehicle. Here’s how the range lines up, based on our product descriptions:

  • TT5000 ($5,450): the smallest in the range. It suits small to medium trucks, small property owners and civil contractors with lighter work.
  • TT8000 ($8,750): suits medium-sized businesses and properties, and large spray outfits. Its low profile helps keep the load stable.
  • TT10000 ($10,550): a low-profile, high-volume tank built for road construction and civil subdivision work.
  • TT10000HP ($10,950): the same capacity in a shorter, taller tank designed to slide into a tipper tray. The truck can then switch between cartage and tipping jobs.
  • TT13000 and TT15000 ($13,950 and $15,950): long-haul models for moving large volumes of water, molasses or chemicals.

Measure your tray before you choose. Width runs from 2,000mm on the TT5000 to 2,350mm on the two largest models, and length from 2,580mm to 4,750mm. The full dimensions for each model are in the table above.

Weight matters as much as size. Water weighs about 1kg per litre, so a full TT8000 carries around 8 tonnes and a full TT15000 around 15 tonnes, before you add the tank, frame and truck. Heavier liquids such as molasses add more. Check your truck’s load rating before committing to a size.

Standard or Heavy-Duty Water Cartage?

Which price applies to you depends on what you’re carting:

  • Standard models are designed for water, which has a specific gravity (SG) of 1.0. They can handle liquids up to 1.5 SG.
  • Heavy-duty models are built for liquids heavier than water, such as molasses or some liquid fertilisers.

Truck Tanks are used for potable water, molasses, chemicals and liquid fertiliser. If you’re carting fertiliser, ourliquid fertiliser storage guidecovers storage at the other end of the trip.

If you’re moving anything with an SG between 1.0 and 2.0, talk to our team before ordering. Our SG ratings guide explains what the numbers mean and how to find the SG of your liquid.

Prices for Mounting and Anti-Surge Add-Ons

Truck Tanks are slip-on tanks, so they need fixing to your truck body or trailer. A metal fabricator usually does this work. There are three ways to mount one:

  • Mounting pin kit: for fitting the tank to an existing tray or body.
  • Galvanised frame: a complete chassis mount frame that suits a flatbed.
  • Your own frame: engineers’ drawings are available if you’d rather build it yourself.

Baffle balls are the other main add-on. Baffle balls sit inside the tank and reduce liquid surge when the tank is part full.

Water cartage tank prices for add-ons: mounting and anti-surge options (as at October 2026)
Model Mounting pin kit Galvanised frame (suits flatbed) Baffle ball kit (anti-surge)
TT5000 $650 $4,500 $1,685
TT8000 $650 $6,500 $2,700
TT10000 $895 $7,500 $3,375
TT10000HP $895 $7,500 Not listed
TT13000 $1,100 $8,000 $4,385
TT15000 $1,100 $8,500 $5,060
A stainless steel lid assembly is also available in place of the standard poly screw lid. Ask our team for a price.

What a Full Setup Adds to Your Water Cartage Tank Purchase

The tank price is only part of the budget. Here’s how a typical setup adds up, using a TT10000 standard on a flatbed:

  • Tank: $10,550
  • Galvanised frame: $7,500
  • Baffle ball kit (optional): $3,375

That’s $18,050 for the tank and frame, or $21,425 with baffle balls, before fitting and delivery.

Two costs sit outside our price list:

  1. Fitting. A metal fabricator mounts the tank. Get a quote from your local fabricator early, as their timing can affect when the truck is ready.
  2. Delivery. Truck Tanks are quoted for delivery case by case, so ask for a delivery quote when you order.

Before you order, confirm your truck’s load limits with the weights above. Our water cartage safety guide  covers load limits and restraint.
