The R5000sq costs $1,295 and stands 1,750mm tall with a wide 2,175mm diameter. The squat model suits sites with a low roofline or eave clearance issue.
The R5000ur costs $1,400 and takes the opposite approach — a narrower 1,800mm diameter, but 2,470mm tall. Same water, different trade-off. The upright model suits a tighter footprint and delivers better gravity-fed pressure at the tap, thanks to the higher inlet.

At 22,700 litres: the pattern flips.
The R22700UR costs $2,995, while the R22700sq costs $3,825 — upright is the cheaper option here, not squat. That’s not about material use. The R22700UR is our highest-volume model by far, and the production efficiency of building around 45 of them every week keeps its price down. The squat version at the same capacity is a lower-volume specialty build, and the price reflects that.

The takeaway: don’t assume squat is always cheaper, or that upright always costs more. Check the specific model.

The R22700UR is the cheapest tank in the entire range on a per-litre basis — cheaper than the 34,000-litre model above it. That comes down to the same production-volume effect covered above. If you need serious water storage and 22,700 litres covers your needs, this is where your money stretches furthest. Need more than that, and the R34000 is still excellent value — it just isn’t the outright cheapest litre-for-litre.

The R22700UR isn’t just the best-value tank per litre — it’s also the most popular model we build. A few things sit outside the tank price:

• Delivery assistance — smaller tanks need one person to assist our driver. Larger models need more: the R13500 and R18200 need two, the R22700 range needs three to four, and the R34000 needs four. The two largest models (R22700sq and R34000) are trailer-only delivery, with a 19m rig and a 5m overhead clearance requirement — worth checking against your site before you order.
• Plumbing and installation — connecting the tank to your roof catchment and household plumbing is a separate job, usually handled by a licensed plumber.
• Base preparation — larger tanks need a level, compacted base. Check the specifications for your chosen model.
